And received a disturbing lesson on the state of the NHS. Oh, yeah, and I got in a mess with a folding deck chair and did this to my finger. I’d forgotten how much more fun it is than a snappy snap, and I’m enjoying the results, if not the extra weight. How the hell does it work again? I love it. An excellent opportunity to drive through some of the most beautiful scenery, catch up with some wonderful people and be rewarded with my big camera at the end of it. I’ve also learned that there’s no point questioning the logic of a pre-trip packing brain (priorities change!) and accepted the quest. Before I left I made a list of where I’d put my belongings, having been travelling before and then living out of various boxes stored in different locations, and simply looked up ‘SLR’ on it.
Whilst in the back of my mind I know it’s probably very simple. I can’t drag and drop and see what I’m doing without interrupting myself, and it does my nut in. The trouble I find is working in text to create a visual page. So the whole site has been moved onto wordpress, where it languishes, functioning but neglected until I can get my head round how that all works. Plain digestive biscuit, anyone?įurther technical unpleasantries have been occurring in the world of .uk as I made a new website on old software, oh how disappointed was I when it wouldn’t load up…! Boo. I’ve yet to explore the more technical aspects, but I have a few other projects on the go and would rather finish those than distract myself with fancies. Simple and effective for the basics, it keeps me going when I’ve forgotten how to do something elementary (again!). I do like the ‘show me how’ function, however. I’ve finally settled on Sony Vegas, as much because I’m fed up reading conflicting reviews and trialling stuff as for its ease of use. My two latest short films are Taverna Lusitana and The Campo Sessions completed after a short and frustrating fight with various new editing software. Then came the distraction of the Gopro, which is still keeping me entertained. I abandoned my SLR when I went to India, and was glad to leave it in favour of a Panasonic Lumix for ease of use and lighter weight.
